Appointments during the Covid-19 pandemic
The surgery is open for all urgent and routine medical problems
Following national guidance that is designed to ensure the safety of our patients and staff, we are still triaging all appointments by phone in the first instance. If we feel you need an examination or an investigation in person we will always arrange this with you. Throughout the pandemic we have continued to see patients face-to-face whenever we cannot solve the problem with a phone appointment.
If your medical problem is urgent (likely to deteriorate if not dealt with on the same day): please phone reception to request a same-day telephone appointment with the duty doctor or the practice nurse.
If you require a routine appointment (for example, to discuss an ongoing problem or test results): please phone reception to request a routine telephone appointment with your own GP. If you subsequently need an examination or an investigation we will arrange this with you.
Reception will ask for brief details of your problem when you call. If you feel able to disclose this it is very useful for enabling us to give you the best care. Having an idea of the problem allows your doctor or nurse to review relevant aspects of your notes prior to the appointment, and enables us to request photographs where they might be helpful.
When you come for a face-to-face appointment, we ask that you please wear a mask in line with the current national guidance. In order to keep our staff and patients as safe as possible, if you have Covid-19 symptoms on the day of your face-to-face appointment (or have recently been in close contact with a positive case), please call the Practice before coming in.
